Proximity was the word of the night at the first annual Project Ignite event. Hosted by pilgrimage alumni Samrawit Samuel, Davon White, and Karoline Ribeiro, alumni from all pilgrimages gathered at the Washington Stem site for the event. Project Ignite was both a celebration of, and a performance for Project Pilgrimage, honoring the people, ideas, and accomplishments since the Pilgrimages inception. Here’s a glimpse into the excitement.
- Nathan Bean leads the group in singing “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”
- Troy presents a wonderful slideshow of pictures he has taken from past Pilgrimages.
- Sharayah Lane leads small groups and explains how Project Pilgrimage impacts her.
- Weijing Zhou (Left) and Hannah Probst (Right) perform a skit themed around proximity written by Simon Tran.
- Davon White and Karoline Ribeiro doing last minute review and preparation with mentor and emcee Steve Scher.
- Samrawit Samuel speaks on what Ignite means to her and the importance of proximity for creating social change.
- Devon Geary shares her experiences at Highlander.
- Pilgrimage Alumni at Ignite.
